MAQ-AB a Swden Based company was founded in 2016 by 3 founders backed by InnoEnergy (EU funded Incubator). It has developed and protected IPs in the form of 3 patented product lines where-in physics and chemistry work in tandem to save energy and reduce vibrations for machining applications.
MAQ’s Technology has a mass inside the tool that is supported by specially developed polymer material that has a frequency dependent stiffness. As cutting forces are applied to the tool, vibration naturally occurs at the frequency band and the stiffness of the polymer materials self-adjust to that frequency to maximize the mass dampening effect.
The tools are with plug and play, self-tuning, and maintenance-free. It neutralizes the effects of vibration and produces superior surface finish, thereby reducing tooling cost and energy consumption. The turning range starts from dia 12 mm until 50 mm bars while the milling is available in HSK63 and BT40 tapers. The Hole making is under-development. The LxD ratio starts from 5 LxD.
